What is Lahore International Children’s Film Festival?The Lahore International Children’s Film Festival is annual event to showcase the best of local and international cinema by and for children in Pakistan. The festival proved to be a success since its inception last year, and growing as leading children’s film festival in Pakistan.The festival has three major objectives; 1: To screen films from international and local film makers for Pakistani children 2: To promote children as film makers, while training them in the art of film making and exhibiting their work in the festival 3: To nurture and inspire local film makers to produce films to children in Pakistan Who organizes Lahore International Children’s Film Festival?The Ali Institute of Education (AIE) is teacher-education institute, committed to improving the quality of education in Pakistan and promoting professionalism among teachers. The AIE provides high quality pre-service and in-service teacher education and offers advisory services for school management, school development and curriculum development.AIE has been playing a pivotal role to improve education in Pakistan since 1992, by offering B.Ed degree and providing professional development opportunities for teachers, managing projects and offering consultancy services. AIE’s main focus is to find innovative methodologies to deliver knowledge and training teachers at large. To meet our objectives of promoting new teaching methods, AIE has developed arts education projects. These projects engage students, teachers, school administration and parents in overall learning process through various art forms. Underlining this mission, our 1st Children’s Film Festival and 1st Children’s Shakespeare Festival were two unique projects which were presented in 2008 - continuing with the 2nd Lahore International Children's Film Festival in 2009. Are awards given out at the festival?Yes. The award categories and details will be announced shortly.Who can attend the festival?The festival attracts families, children and education community from Lahore. In 2008, more then 11,000 and in 2009 more then 7,000 people visited our festival.How do I purchase tickets?Opening of the tickets will be announced for the 3rd Lahore International Children Film Festival in August 2010. You can purchase it from the festival box office, Ali Institute of Education.Courtesy package is offered on group sales for school and organizations. How are films selected for the festival?Films submitted to the Festival are reviewed by our programming department, which evaluates each film, looking for the best for Pakistan children from local and international cinema. |
